Ambitious Collaborations for Sustainability:

Yuriko Koike, Tokyo’s first female governor overseeing the world’s largest city, with a population of 14 million, is eager to forge partnerships with UAE-based green start-ups. 

Her focus ranges from innovative “bendable” solar cells, applicable even on skyscrapers, to combatting air pollution in a quest for climate solutions.

Invitation to Collaborate:

At Cop28, Governor Koike has emphasized the urgency to act and deliver concrete solutions. She extended an invitation to UAE small and medium businesses, urging collaboration in tackling clean energy challenges.

Addressing the Climate Crisis:

Governor Koike highlighted the pressing reality of natural calamities, floods, and wildfires, emphasizing the critical need for cities and nations to unite in finding sustainable solutions. 

In hosting Cop28, an oil-producing country like the UAE has sparked historical significance, signifying a shared commitment to addressing the climate crisis.

The alliance between the UAE and Japan aims to work collaboratively toward a sustainable future. Governor Koike expressed a keen interest in collaborating with cities globally, including those in the UAE, to collectively combat climate challenges and foster a greener tomorrow.
