‘Dunki’ Receives U/A Certification: CBFC’s Directive and Film Details

'Dunki' received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ahead of its December 21 release.

Ahead of its release on December 21, ‘Dunki’ got a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after certain adjustments. 

The CBFC mandated the inclusion of anti-smoking health spots at the movie’s start and before the second half, emphasizing health awareness.

Content Adjustments for Compliance:

Specific modifications within ‘Dunki’ were made to align with certification criteria. 

The CBFC directed changes like altering the word to ‘immigrants’ at the film’s beginning and adjusting scenes of Shah Rukh Khan’s character during his wedding. 

Furthermore, a significant scene was appended with a warning against considering suicide as a solution.

Runtime Details and Authenticity:

The film’s team substantiated statistical and factual information incorporated into ‘Dunki’ with documentary evidence, enhancing the authenticity of the content. 

The film secured its U/A certificate on December 15, with a runtime of 161.24 minutes, equivalent to 2 hours, 41 minutes, and 24 seconds.

Featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, ‘Dunki’ is a collaboration between JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films. 

Produced by Rajkumar Hirani and Gauri Khan, the film boasts a writing team comprising Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon.

‘Dunki’ encapsulates the transformative journey of four friends pursuing their dreams abroad. Drawing from real-life experiences, the film weaves a narrative of love, camaraderie, and aspiration.
