Dubai RTA Distributes Over 600 Free Pre-loaded Nol Cards to Needy Families

The new Nol card, announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), serves as an internationally recognized student ID, providing access to exclusive benefits and discounts both locally and globally.

The initiative, unveiled during the Mena Transport Congress and Exhibition, is set to revolutionize the way students in Dubai navigate public transport and avail discounts on various services.

Benefits of the New Nol Card:

  1. International Student ID: The Nol card doubles as an internationally accepted student identity card, allowing students to access thousands of services and discounts worldwide.
  2. Up to 70% Discounts: Students can enjoy significant discounts of up to 70% on purchases from Dubai retail outlets, including school and university canteens, by using the Nol card as a mode of payment.
  3. 50% Discount on Public Transport: The card offers students up to 50% discounts on public transport fares in Dubai, making commuting more affordable and convenient.
  4. Easy Application Process: Students can apply for the new Nol card through the Nol Pay app and have it delivered to their doorstep, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

Rollout Plan and Application Process:

According to Salah Almarzooqi, director of the Automated Collection Systems Department at RTA, the target is to launch the new card in time for the new academic year, starting in September 2024. Existing student Nol cardholders can easily upgrade to the new card once it becomes available.

Collaboration with ISIC Association:

The launch of the new Nol card follows an agreement between RTA and the ISIC Association, marking a significant partnership aimed at enriching students’ daily commutes and enhancing their overall experience. The ISIC card, known for its global recognition and extensive benefits, adds another layer of convenience and value to the new Nol card initiative.

Parental Oversight and Management:

Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of Corporate Technology Support Services Sector at RTA, highlighted that the new Nol card allows parents to actively manage their children’s accounts. This includes monitoring card balances and setting daily expenditure limits, providing parents with peace of mind while their children commute and make purchases.
