Russia Launches Devastating Missile Barrage on Ukraine, Killing Dozens

In a grim escalation of the conflict, Russia unleashed a massive missile barrage on Ukraine, resulting in the death of at least 31 civilians and injuring over 120. The attacks targeted residential areas, including a maternity ward, raising global concerns and condemnation.

Poland Reports Violation of Airspace:

NATO member Poland reported that a Russian missile entered its airspace for about 40km before returning to Ukraine within three minutes. Moscow has not commented on this incident, and NATO maintains vigilance.

The strikes hit various regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, where at least nine people were killed and 30 wounded. The assault targeted critical infrastructure, industrial sites, and military facilities, with reports of explosions echoing across the capital.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s Response:

The Ukrainian foreign ministry declared that the extensive year-end air assault dispels any notion of a truce with Russia. 

Amid uncertainties regarding Western support, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba urged allies to continue providing long-term military aid.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy described the attack as one of the largest missile assaults on Ukrainian cities.
