At the Atreju political festival hosted by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party, Elon Musk addressed concerns surrounding X’s future and Italy’s demographic landscape. 

Musk expressed optimism about X’s prospects, noting advertisers’ return to the platform, which had previously faced an exodus. 

He emphasized the short-term nature of advertisers’ concerns about brand safety, countering earlier statements that the advertising boycott could have dire consequences for the platform.

‘Woke Mind Virus’ Impacting Organizations on X:

Musk attributed the departure of certain organizations from X to being influenced by what he termed a “woke mind virus.” 

He criticized the divisive nature of identity politics, condemning the excessive focus on social awareness as detrimental to meritocracy and overall enjoyment.

Elon Musk’s Stance on Migration and Population Dynamics:

Expressing support for legal immigration, Musk advocated for countries to welcome honest, hardworking individuals. 

He stressed the importance of distinguishing between legal and illegal immigration, highlighting the need for appropriate controls. 

Furthermore, Musk cautioned against overreliance on migration to compensate for declining domestic birth rates. He highlighted Italy’s low fertility rate as a potential obstacle for companies considering investments.

Italy’s Demographic Challenges and Investment Concerns:

Musk raised concerns about Italy’s low birth rate and its implications for future investments. He questioned whether a sufficient workforce would be available for companies seeking to establish themselves in the country. 

When met with skepticism about the immediacy of the issue, Musk emphasized the urgency, suggesting that the repercussions might manifest sooner than anticipated.
