The United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has revoked the licenses of two domestic worker recruitment agencies, Shamma Al Mahairi Domestic Workers Services Centre in Dubai and Al Barq Domestic Workers Services Centre L.L.C. in Ajman.
The agencies have been found violating the law governing the hiring of domestic helpers, leading to the cancellation of their licenses.
A few Important points to know:
- Violations: The two agencies were found to have committed legal violations related to the hiring and employment of domestic workers.
- Consequences: Their licenses have been revoked due to the violations. The agencies are required to settle the status of their workers, fulfill their obligations towards both the workers and the employers of domestic helpers, and pay any fines due up to the date of license cancellation.
- Legal Action: The MoHRE has notified relevant local authorities to take the necessary legal action against these agencies.
The U.A.E.’s decision to revoke the licenses of these agencies underscores the importance of compliance with regulations governing the hiring and treatment of domestic workers, ensuring their rights and well-being are protected.
