Yas Island turns red in anticipation of UAE’s Hope Probe

UAE: In anticipation of Hope Probe’s arrival in Mars, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s premier leisure and entertainment hub, lights up in red as the spacecraft is all set to enter the Red Planet’s orbit on February 9 Tuesday.

Main attractions across Yas Island turned scarlet, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, CLYMB Abu Dhabi, Yas Plaza Hotels, as well as Etihad Arena. And W Abu Dhabi Yas Island.

Mars is also called the ‘Red Planet’ because it appears in the sky as a mixture of orange-red star. The planet’s appearance is actually due to rust in the Martian rocks. There are some places on Earth also which can give us a glimpse of the Martian environment. Which includes the Death Valley in California, Haughton Impact Crater in Canadian High Arctic and volcanoes in Hawaii.

Hope Probe will study the weather system of Mars, monitoring, for the 1st time, weather changes all the day, across the planet and during all seasons. It will observe weather phenomena such as dust storms, as well as changes in atmosphere and temprature. That will also reveal the causes of Martian surface corrosion.

Hope Probe is the first Arab interplanetary mission. It is now in its final stage as the spacecraft is set to enter Mars orbit on Tuesday at 7.42pm (UAE time).

The Hope Probe’s appearence on Mars will make Emirates only 5th country or entity in the world to reach Red-Planet. After the United States, former Soviet Union, China, India and the European Space Agency. UAE will also be the 3rd country to accomplish the goal in its first attempt.
