Weekend Weather Alert: Foggy Start for UAE Residents

UAE Fog Warning: Abu Dhabi and Dubai Experience Poor Visibility

Residents in the United Arab Emirates are set to begin their weekend with a foggy start as the National Centre of Meteorology issues a red and yellow weather alert for parts of the country.

The NCM has warned of expected deterioration in horizontal visibility, with the foggy conditions expected to persist from 3:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Visibility may further decrease at times in some coastal and internal areas.

Caution on the Roads:

Abu Dhabi Police has cautioned motorists, advising them to exercise extreme caution when driving in such weather conditions due to reduced visibility.

They are also encouraged to adhere to changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

In response to the current weather conditions, the authority has reduced the speed limit on Al-Taf Road to 80 km/h to ensure road safety.

Daytime Weather Forecast:

The rest of the day is expected to be generally fair, with partly cloudy conditions at times. There is a possibility of convective cloud formation in the East, potentially leading to rainfall by afternoon.

Humid weather conditions will prevail during the night and into Sunday morning, with a chance of fog or mist formation in some Western areas.

Wind Conditions:

Expect light to moderate winds throughout the day, occasionally freshening and causing blowing dust.

The lowest temperature in the UAE today is forecasted to be 19ºC, with the highest temperature reaching 39ºC in internal parts of the country. Be prepared for varying weather conditions throughout the day.
