Weather Disruption Causes Flight Delays and Diversions at Dubai

Due to inclement weather, around 20 planes arriving and departing from Dubai International Airport were delayed on Friday.

Approximately 20 flights arriving and departing from Dubai International Airport (DXB) experienced disruptions on Friday due to adverse weather conditions.

According to a spokesperson from DXB, as of 10 am UAE time, 13 inbound flights were diverted to nearby airports, while six outbound flights were canceled. 

Dubai Airports is actively collaborating with airlines, control authorities, and service partners at DXB to minimize inconvenience to passengers.

Travel Advisory for Passengers:

Passengers scheduled to travel to DXB are advised to consider using the Dubai Metro to avoid potential traffic delays resulting from water-logged roads. 

The spokesperson urged travelers to check traffic updates and allocate extra time for their journey to DXB.

The airport authorities are working closely with all stakeholders to coordinate efforts and mitigate the impact of the weather disruption.

Confirmation from flydubai:

Dubai-based carrier Flydubai confirmed the cancellation and delay of some flights. A spokesperson from the airline mentioned that several inbound flights had to be diverted and are in the process of returning to Dubai. 

Flydubai reassured passengers that the safety of passengers and crew remains their top priority. 

The airline closely monitors weather conditions, takes necessary precautions, and collaborates with airport authorities to minimize disruptions and ensure the smooth operation of travel schedules.
