Virat Kohli’s Century Powers India to Victory Over Bangladesh

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten century led India to their fourth consecutive World Cup win, defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets in Pune.
Kohli’s masterful innings and strong contributions from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill secured the victory with over eight overs to spare.
Kohli’s Century:
Star batsman Virat Kohli reached a century, sealing the match in style with a six when he needed just three runs to complete his ton.
He faced 97 balls, including six fours and four sixes, marking his third score above fifty in four innings during the World Cup.
Opening Partnership:
The stage for Kohli’s brilliance was set by a solid opening partnership of 88 runs between India’s skipper Rohit Sharma (48) and young talent Shubman Gill (53). Rohit’s aggressive intent, exemplified by a boundary off the second ball, signaled India’s approach.
This defeat marked their third loss in four matches for Bangladesh, leaving them with a challenging path to qualify for the semi-finals.
Despite a strong start, the Tigers’ top order collapsed against India’s spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.
Spinners Spark Collapse:
Yadav and Jadeja were instrumental in Bangladesh’s downfall, taking key wickets and restricting their scoring. Despite a promising opening partnership between Tanzid Hasan and Liton Das, the Tigers slumped to 137-4.
Tanzid Hasan’s performance stood out for Bangladesh, achieving his maiden ODI fifty. His quick half-century came in just 41 balls before Yadav, lbw dismissed him.
Chasing Victory:
Chasing Bangladesh’s total of 256-8, Kohli’s exceptional batting and India’s strong team effort led them to victory, solidifying their position in the World Cup.
India’s quest for a third World Cup title continues with a match against New Zealand in Dharamsala, while Bangladesh faces South Africa in Mumbai.
