Ukrainian Army Reports Pushing Russian Forces Back from Dnipro River

In a notable development on Sunday, the Ukrainian army declared a tangible breakthrough, successfully pushing Russian forces “three to eight kilometers” away from the banks of the Dnipro River.
This marks a substantial achievement for Kyiv’s forces in a challenging counteroffensive.
Preliminary Gains Along the Left Bank:
According to army spokeswoman Natalia Gumenyuk, the preliminary figures indicate a territorial gain ranging from three to eight kilometers.
However, she clarified that the extent of control over the area by the Ukrainian military and the nature of the Russian forces’ status (whether they retreated) was not explicitly specified.
This advance comes months into a counteroffensive that has been viewed as disappointing until now.
The Ukrainian army’s successful maneuver on the left bank of the Dnipro River represents a significant shift in the dynamics of the ongoing conflict.
Uncertainty Over Control and Retreat Status:
The absence of specific details regarding complete control or the retreat status of Russian forces adds an element of uncertainty to the situation.
Further updates are awaited to clarify the extent of the Ukrainian army’s success and the current disposition of the Russian forces in the region.
