On a Sunday morning in the UAE, the National Centre of Meteorology issued a warning regarding the formation of dense fog, affecting various western areas of the country. This fog was expected to significantly deteriorate horizontal visibility, potentially dropping further until 9 am.

Red Alert for Visibility

The Meteorological Department took this weather phenomenon seriously, sounding a red alert to signify a severe drop in visibility levels, with expectations of it falling below 1,000 meters.

Motorists Advised to Exercise Caution

In response to the foggy conditions, the Abu Dhabi Police issued a cautionary advisory to all motorists.

They strongly urged drivers to exercise extreme caution due to the reduced visibility caused by the dense fog. This advisory was part of an effort to enhance road safety during adverse weather conditions.

Adherence to Changing Speed Limits

To ensure the safety of road users, the Abu Dhabi Police encouraged all drivers to closely monitor and follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards along the roadways. This measure aimed to mitigate the risk of accidents and enhance overall traffic safety.

In summary, the UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology’s warning about dense fog formation and the Abu Dhabi Police’s advisory for motorists to exercise caution and adhere to changing speed limits served as essential safety measures to safeguard the community during challenging weather conditions.
