UAE Renews Call for Two-State Solution in Opening of FNC Session

The UAE reaffirmed its support for the Palestinian people, calling for a two-state solution to the ongoing situation.

During the opening session of the Federal National Council (FNC)’s 18th legislative chapter, the UAE reiterated its commitment to the Palestinian people, renewing calls for a two-state solution to address the ongoing crisis. 

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, led the session on behalf of the UAE President.

UAE’s Humanitarian Initiatives:

Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the FNC, emphasized the UAE’s unwavering support for Palestine. 

He highlighted the country’s previous calls for a humanitarian ceasefire, delivery of aid, and protection of civilians amid the conflict. 

The UAE has undertaken significant humanitarian efforts, including launching the ‘Gallant Knight 3’ operation to support the people of Gaza. 

Additionally, the UAE President directed the treatment of 1,000 Palestinian children at local hospitals and organized aid initiatives for those in Gaza.

International Advocacy for Two-State Solution:

The UAE urged the international community to back the two-state solution, considering it a just, comprehensive, and permanent resolution to the Palestinian crisis, aligning with UN resolutions.

The session was inaugurated with prominent UAE leaders, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, ministers, and senior officials. 

The event commenced with the UAE National Anthem and Quranic recitations.

Upholding Sheikh Zayed’s Legacy:

Saqr Ghobash emphasized the council’s commitment to maintaining the exceptional quality of life for UAE citizens and residents. 

He credited the country’s safety and security to the principles established by its leadership. 

The council pledged to draw inspiration from the importance of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, working tirelessly towards the nation’s development.
