UAE Pavilion Transforms into ‘UAE House of Sustainability’

The famous falcon wing-shaped UAE Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai has been repurposed and reopened as the 'UAE House of Sustainability.'

The renowned falcon wing-shaped UAE Pavilion from Expo 2020 Dubai has been repurposed and launched as the ‘UAE House of Sustainability.’ 

The LEED Platinum-certified building, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, will now serve as a space dedicated to promoting sustainability initiatives and fostering discussions on climate change.

Opening Dates and Multisensory Experience:

The UAE House of Sustainability in the Green Zone will be open to visitors from December 3 to 12. 

The space will offer a multisensory guest experience during this period, showcasing the UAE’s journey towards a net-zero future. The initiative aligns with the ongoing Year of Sustainability in the UAE.

Highlighting the UAE’s Climate Action at COP28:

The launch coincides with the climate change conference COP28 hosted by Expo City Dubai from November 30 to December 12. 

The house aims to provide insight into the UAE’s efforts to tackle climate change, offering a vision for a sustainable future.

Key Areas and Public Activations:

The UAE House of Sustainability comprises three main areas: Sustainability Oasis, Our Journey of Collective Progress, and Our Future of Sustainable Flourishing. 

Public activations, including PopCOP sessions, will allow participants to engage in immersive climate action workshops, reflection exercises, and interactive experiences.

Year of Sustainability and National Initiative:

The transformation of the UAE Pavilion aligns with the UAE President’s statement of 2023 as the Year of Sustainability. 

This nationwide initiative encourages individuals and communities to adopt sustainable practices, emphasizing the country’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
