UAE-Pakistan Talks: Strengthening Ties and Regional Cooperation

The President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, warmly received Pakistan Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar during his working visit to the UAE. 

Their meeting at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations across various sectors.

Areas of Collaboration:

Discussions highlighted a commitment to bolstering economic ties, expanding investment opportunities, and fostering development across agriculture, food security, and energy sectors. 

The leaders emphasized sustainable growth as a key driver for the prosperity of both countries.

Amid discussions on regional and international matters, attention was directed towards Middle Eastern developments and the urgent situation in the Gaza Strip. 

The leaders stressed the necessity for sustainable channels to provide humanitarian aid and immediately establish a ceasefire. 

They also urged global action to achieve a just and comprehensive regional peace essential for global stability.

Climate Change and Future Collaboration:

The UAE’s imminent UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) was underscored as pivotal in finding sustainable climate solutions. 

The leaders highlighted the conference’s role in accelerating climate action and exploring practical pathways toward environmental sustainability.

Mutual Appreciation and Agreements:

Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed gratitude for the enduring friendship and UAE’s significant developmental support in Pakistan, particularly in healthcare, education, and development initiatives. 

The meeting witnessed the exchange of memoranda of understanding across diverse fields, showcasing a commitment to further collaboration.

Distinguished UAE officials, including Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attended the meeting and the subsequent exchange ceremony. 

The Pakistani delegation, comprising several ministers and senior officials, also participated in the discussions and agreements, marking an important step in strengthening bilateral relations.
