UAE Growing Economy Presents Abundant Job Opportunities, Says Official

As the UAE's economy grows, a senior official has emphasised the expanding work opportunities available to all inhabitants.

As the UAE’s economy expands, a senior official has highlighted the increasing job prospects available to all residents.

Ghannam Al Mazrouei, the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council Secretary-General, spoke about these opportunities during the Industrialist Career Fair in Abu Dhabi.

Positive Economic Outlook:

The Central Bank of the UAE has projected a 4.3% growth in the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 2024, underscoring the nation’s economic resilience and robust demand. This optimistic outlook forms the basis for a promising job market.

Equal Opportunities for All:

Al Mazrouei emphasized that the growing economy translates to numerous employment prospects for everyone in the UAE.

The focus now is on encouraging and supporting employers to engage UAE nationals in the country’s growth story.

The Nafis program, a federal initiative, is dedicated to attracting more UAE nationals to the private sector.

It supports employers and employees, upskilling Emiratis and offers financial and non-financial support to help them become integral parts of their organizations.

Enhancing Skills Through Nafis Training:

Nafis’ training program aims to enhance the skills of Emiratis, providing them with internationally recognized professional certifications in various fields.

This initiative aligns with the huge goal of equipping local talent with the capabilities required to thrive in the workplace.

Fostering Synergy Between Supply and Demand:

One of the challenges faced in supporting job-seekers, according to Al Mazrouei, is the need for greater clarity regarding employers’ demands.

Aligning the local workforce’s skills and expertise with employers’ specific requirements is crucial to ensuring success in the job market.

The Industrialist Career Fair:

The Industrialist Career Fair, a first-of-its-kind event in the region, aligns with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology’s objectives ‘Operation 300 billion.’

It aims to empower local talent through ‘the Industrial Programme,’ equipping Emiratis with the necessary skills to excel in the workplace.

The three-day career fair is scheduled for Thursday at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing a platform for job seekers and employers to connect and explore opportunities in the burgeoning UAE job market.
