UAE Foreign Minister Meets UK Counterpart to Discuss Regional Developments

Sheikh Abdullah, the UAE's Foreign Minister, met with James Cleverly, the UK's Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs.

IN LONDON, the UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held a crucial meeting with James Cleverly, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs. 

The high-level discussions focused on the latest developments in the region and the ongoing escalation on the Palestinian-Israeli track.

Addressing Escalation and Regional Stability:

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the gravity of the escalation that originated in Gaza, emphasizing its role in heightening regional tensions and posing a threat to its security and stability. 

Both sides stressed the vital importance of coordination among all relevant international parties to contain the current crisis through various means and solutions. 

They also highlighted the need to address provocative actions to destabilize the region and endangering its people.

Strengthening UAE-UK Cooperation:

Sheikh Abdullah affirmed the steadily growing levels of cooperation between the UAE and the UK, rooted in the ‘Partnership for the Future’ that unites both nations. 

This partnership aims to achieve sustainable prosperity for their respective populations.

Addressing Balkan Region Tensions:

The discussions extended to the latest developments along the border between Serbia and Kosovo, focusing on reducing tensions between the two sides. 

The importance of adhering to dialogue under the auspices of the European Union was emphasized. 

Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE’s aid for all efforts to encourage peace and stability in the Western Balkans region.

Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Commercial Affairs, and Mansoor Abdullah Al Balhol Al Falasi, the UAE Ambassador to the United Kingdom followed the meeting. 

The dialogue underscored the commitment of both nations to addressing regional challenges and fostering bilateral relations.
