Abu Dhabi : The UAE’s 1st ever ambassador to Israel was appointed on Sunday, February 14 before His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
This comes 6 months after the both countries agreed to maintain their relationship. The Dubai media office confirm this news.
The new UAE ambassador to Israel is Mohammad Mahmoud Al Khajah . He pledges to be loyal to the UAE and its president, respect the UAE’s constitution and laws and also place its interest above all considerations, and to perform his duties with sincerity and integrity.
At Qasr Al Watan, is the place where the ceremony took place on Sunday. Sheikh Mohammed also received the credentials of 2 freshly appointed foreign ambassadors to the UAE.
Julio Simon Castaños Zouain Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to UAE and Afzaal Mahmoud Mirza Sultan Mahmud, Ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE give credentials to Sheikh Mohammed.
Sheikh Mohammed greeted the ambassadors and also wish them a good stay with their families in the UAE. Also assuring them that they will got necessary support that will enable them to perform their duties without any problems. Under the framework of internationally-established diplomatic relations and norms.
Sheikh Mohammed wished the UAE ambassador luck and success in serving his nation. Also requesting him to work diligently and sincerely to consolidate friendly and cooperative relations between the UAE and Israel. In such a way that preserves the mutual interests of both countries and promotes the culture of peace, coexistence and tolerance between their residents and the peoples of the region.
Moreover, the UAE agreen to start an embassy in Tel Aviv. While israel said it would establish a diplomatic mission in Abu Dhabi. The both countries agreed to US- brokered deal to normalize their relationship .
