Sadeera Samarawickrama emerged as the top scorer for Sri Lanka with an impressive 91 during their chase. The team secured victory with 10 balls to spare.
Sybrand Engelbrecht and Logan van Beek played crucial roles for the Netherlands, hitting their maiden one-day international fifties.
This performance helped the Netherlands recover from a challenging start, eventually posting 262 runs.
Engelbrecht and Van Beek’s Partnership:
Engelbrecht reached his milestone, scoring 70 runs off 65 balls, while Van Beek achieved fifty from 68 balls with a single boundary.
The duo formed a significant seventh-wicket partnership of 130 runs.
Left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka, with figures of 4-49, and recalled fast bowler Kasun Rajitha, who took 4-50, played crucial roles in Sri Lanka’s bowling performance.
Concerns Over Sri Lanka’s Extras:
Sri Lanka conceded 33 extras, including 26 wides, a matter of concern for the team.
The Netherlands had a challenging start, with Rajitha taking key wickets. Spinner Maheesh Theekshana further contributed by dismissing the Dutch skipper Colin Edwards.

The Dutch team faced a drought of boundaries for 20 overs until Engelbrecht and Van Beek initiated their rescue partnership.
