After the news of various vaccination drives of the UAE, there is another good news coming out of the gulf state. On Thursday, the UAE has shipped a load of newly approved Sinopharm vaccines to Egypt as a gift.
Further, more shipments are going to reach soon.
According to local media reports, Hala Zayed, health minister of Egypt, acknowledged the kind gesture from the UAE. Also, she led the team that received the vaccine at Cairo International airport.
During a press conference at the airport, the minister said, “this is a historic day for Egypt to receive the first shipment of the Sinopharm vaccine, which is 100 percent free.”
Frontline workers of the nation, at hospitals and quarantine centers, are going to get the first shots of the vaccine. Patients suffering from kidney failure, tumors, and chronic diseases will also be vaccinated.
More citizens will get the vaccine for free once the consignments arrive in Egypt, said Hala Zayed. The vaccination process will complete with two doses given in 21 days.

Having a population of more than 100 million, Egypt is a considerable market for vaccines. Russia has also announced a deal of supplying 25 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine to Egypt.
Besides that, the government of Egypt has confirmed relatively low numbers of coronavirus infections. A per the reports, it is partly due to the limited number of public testing. But a warning of the second wave of Covid-19 is issued, as daily infections have risen in recent weeks.
