Sheikh Saud leads UAE delegation to China for Belt and Road talks

Around 130 nations and global organizations are expected to attend discussions on China’s ambitious international trade policy.

Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of China’s Belt and Road Initiative

On Monday evening, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, arrived in Beijing to spearhead a high-level UAE delegation participating in crucial discussions marking the 10th anniversary of China’s prominent Belt and Road strategy.

Participation in the Belt and Road Forum for Global Cooperation

Sheikh Saud is representing President Sheikh Mohamed at the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which commenced on Tuesday. 

This summit gathers leaders and representatives from various nations to discuss and collaborate on the Belt and Road Initiative, a significant global infrastructure and economic development program.

Distinguished UAE Delegation

Accompanying Sheikh Saud are several senior Emirati ministers and officials, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its ties with China and enhancing cooperation in various fields. The delegation includes:

• Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Cop28 President-designate.
• Sheikh Salem Al Qassimi, Minister of Culture and Youth.
• Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade.
• Ahmad Al Falasi, Minister of Education.
• Hussain Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to China.

Their participation in this forum underscores the UAE’s interest in advancing partnerships, economic development, and international cooperation in line with China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
