In a significant move to address child abuse and neglect, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has given his approval to a new childhood protection policy.

The primary goal of this strategy is to provide vital support to families and caregivers, empowering them to create a safe and nurturing environment for children. This policy emphasizes the importance of safeguarding children against both psychological and physical abuse.

Approval during the Executive Council Meeting

The formal approval of the childhood protection policy took place during the Executive Council meeting held in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Sheikh Khaled underscored the significance of offering assistance and care to the early childhood system. 

This includes the development of educational programs designed to guide families and parents, raising their awareness about physical challenges, potential dangers, and the psychological and social risks that children may face.
