In a remarkable medical feat, doctors in Sharjah successfully saved the life of a nine-year-old boy by removing a tumor the size of a lemon from his nasal cavity.

Child’s Struggle with Breathing

The young boy, named Ibrahim, had been facing breathing difficulties, especially while sleeping. Concerned for his well-being, his father promptly took him to the hospital for medical evaluation.

Diagnosis: Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA)

Medical assessments revealed that Ibrahim was suffering from Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA), a challenging condition.

Emergency Surgery to Preserve Sight and Life

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, doctors swiftly performed an emergency operation to remove the 60-gram tumor, which was dangerously encroaching on his eye socket and jeopardizing his vision.

Preventing Tragic Consequences

The leading surgeon, Dr. Narayanan Janakiram, a specialist in ear, nose, and throat and skull base surgery at Medcare Hospital Sharjah, emphasized the gravity of the situation. Without this timely procedure, Ibrahim faced the risk of severe bleeding or permanent blindness.
