Extensive Efforts to Locate Abducted Parents in Northern Colombia

More than 120 soldiers, along with the local police, initiated an extensive search operation in northern Colombia to locate Luis Manuel Diaz and his wife on Sunday. 

Reports had emerged that armed men had abducted the couple, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Discovery of Diaz’s Mother

On Saturday, the player’s mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was found in Barrancas, raising concerns about the safety of the abducted family members.

Diaz’s Absence from Liverpool Match

Due to the ongoing crisis involving his family, Luis Manuel Diaz was notably absent from the Liverpool team’s match against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Military Deployment and Search Methods

The Colombian army has taken robust measures to locate Diaz’s father. 

This includes the establishment of roadblocks and the deployment of two motorized platoons, unmanned aircraft, helicopters, and a radar-equipped plane to aid in the search.

Details of the Kidnapping

Official details about the reported kidnapping have not been provided by Colombian authorities. 

However, local media sources have indicated that armed men on motorcycles abducted Diaz’s parents at a gas station in Barrancas, their hometown situated in La Guajira, a northern region of the country. 

The situation has raised concerns and prompted a coordinated effort to secure the safe return of the abducted individuals.
