Sail to Success: Abu Dhabi International Boat Show Breaks Records

The Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) has started sail with a record-breaking number of attendees.

Under the esteemed patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the fifth edition of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show (ADIBS) has set sail with a record-breaking number of participants. 

Over 700 companies specializing in yacht and boat manufacturing, fishing equipment, and water sports have converged at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre Marina and Canal Hall.

Remarkable Growth and International Presence:

The current edition boasts a 30% increase in participating companies, reaching 711. 

Furthermore, the show has expanded its global footprint, with 50 participating countries, including newcomers such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Norway, Belgium, Lithuania, Indonesia, Cyprus, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.

Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s Tourist Appeal:

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, the Managing Director and CEO of ADNEC Group, highlighted ADIBS’s role in fortifying Abu Dhabi’s status as a premier tourist destination. 

The exhibition covers an expansive 65,000 sqm, representing a 55% increase in area, with national companies accounting for 70% of participants.

A noteworthy aspect of the show is the unveiling of 15 new yachts and boats, marking a 40% increase from the previous year. These premieres hail from 13 countries, showcasing the industry’s dynamism and innovation.

Holistic Experience and Entertainment:

Beyond the exhibits, ADIBS offers 12 entertainment and cultural activities for families and visitors, including competitions, workshops, virtual reality experiences depicting life underwater, and diving experiences. 

The show aligns with the ‘Year of Sustainability,’ featuring a platform with the participation of 28 international organizations and companies from 14 countries, emphasizing environmental responsibility.

Recognition and Achievements:

In addition to the festivities, the exhibition introduces the Abu Dhabi Marine Awards and announces an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest 3D-printed boat. 

These initiatives underscore the show’s commitment to celebrating achievements and pushing the boundaries of maritime technology.

Public Access and Closing Details:

The exhibition welcomes the public from 3 pm to 9 pm, concluding at 8 pm on Sunday. As ADIBS continues to break records, it emerges as a pivotal event in the maritime industry, showcasing the latest trends, fostering international collaboration, and contributing to Abu Dhabi’s prominence on the global stage.
