Difficult Decision and Timing:

In his statement, Babar Azam expressed the complexity of his decision, acknowledging that the timing felt appropriate for this significant call. 

“Today, I am stepping down as the captain of Pakistan in all formats. It’s a difficult decision, but I feel it is the right time for this call,” his post mentioned.

Commitment to Continued Representation:

Despite stepping down from the captaincy role, Babar Azam reassured his commitment to representing Pakistan as a player across all three formats. 

He affirmed his dedication, stating, “I will continue to represent Pakistan as a player in all three formats. I am here to support the new captain and the team with my experience and dedication.”
