PV Sindhu Advances to Second Round of French Open Super 750

PV Sindhu played Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia in the opening round of the French Open Super 750 badminton event.

Indian badminton star PV Sindhu faced a challenging first-round match against Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung at the French Open Super 750 badminton tournament. 

After a tough contest lasting 69 minutes, Sindhu emerged victorious.

Sindhu displayed her resilience and skill by coming from behind to secure a 12-21, 21-18, 21-15 victory against Tunjung in the women’s singles first-round match.

World Number One Pairing in Men’s Doubles:

The newly crowned world number one pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty showcased their prowess in the men’s doubles event. They advanced to the second round with a dominant performance.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who won the gold at the Asian Games, defeated world No. 34 Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar with a decisive score of 21-13, 21-13 in a one-sided encounter.

Upcoming Challenge:

In the next round, Satwik and Chirag will face a formidable opponent in the form of the three-time world champions Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia.

Upcoming Matches for Indian Contenders:

On the upcoming schedule, Kidambi Srikanth is set to take on France’s Tomav Popov Junior, while Lakshya Sen will face another French player, Arnaud Merkle, on Wednesday.
