Indian badminton star PV Sindhu faced a challenging first-round match against Indonesia’s Gregoria Mariska Tunjung at the French Open Super 750 badminton tournament.
After a tough contest lasting 69 minutes, Sindhu emerged victorious.
Sindhu displayed her resilience and skill by coming from behind to secure a 12-21, 21-18, 21-15 victory against Tunjung in the women’s singles first-round match.
World Number One Pairing in Men’s Doubles:
The newly crowned world number one pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty showcased their prowess in the men’s doubles event. They advanced to the second round with a dominant performance.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who won the gold at the Asian Games, defeated world No. 34 Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar with a decisive score of 21-13, 21-13 in a one-sided encounter.

In the next round, Satwik and Chirag will face a formidable opponent in the form of the three-time world champions Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia.
