President Sheikh Mohamed’s key agenda at the G20 leaders’ summit

President Sheikh Mohamed recently participated in the G20 Leaders’ Summit, a pivotal platform focusing on global objectives set during the previous New Delhi summit. The meeting delved into pressing issues such as climate change, sustainability, energy, and international security.

G20’s Climate Change Focus

During the summit, Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the G20’s substantial commitment to addressing climate change. This year’s agenda includes ambitious goals like tripling global renewable energy capacity by 2030, advocating for accessible climate financing for developing nations, and launching a biofuels alliance.

Linking G20 Initiatives to Cop28

Sheikh Mohamed stressed the interconnectedness of these initiatives with the upcoming Cop28 conference. Scheduled in Dubai from November 30 to December 12, Cop28 will host the inaugural global stocktake of commitments made under the 2015 Paris Agreement. The G20’s efforts are poised to bolster the collaborative action anticipated at this crucial conference.
