As the authorities announced that Ramadan will commence in the UAE on Monday, President Sheikh Mohamed took the opportunity to extend warm wishes to all those observing the sacred month. The announcement came following the sighting of the new crescent moon by the Moon-sighting committee, echoing the decision made by Saudi Arabia.

In his message, President Sheikh Mohamed expressed his sincere wishes for a blessed Ramadan, filled with peace, harmony, and spiritual growth. He emphasized the significance of this period of reflection and prayer in fostering unity, compassion, and solidarity among individuals and communities.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, echoed similar sentiments, extending his well-wishes to the people of the UAE and the wider region for the auspicious occasion of Ramadan. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, also joined in conveying similar sentiments to mark the beginning of the holy month.

Ramadan holds profound importance for Muslims worldwide, with over 1.9 billion adherents observing fasting as one of the five pillars of Islam. It is believed to be the month during which the Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed, serving as a time for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and increased devotion to worship.

Apart from abstaining from food and drink during daylight hours, Ramadan offers worshippers an opportunity for introspection, strengthening faith, spending quality time with loved ones, and engaging in charitable acts to support those in need.

As Ramadan approaches, Muslims across the globe prepare to embark on this spiritual journey, embracing the values of compassion, generosity, and communal harmony embedded within the essence of the holy month.
