In a remarkable feat of athleticism and skill, Pepe, aged 40 years and 254 days, etched his name into the annals of football history.

The veteran player delivered a thunderous finish in the 91st minute, securing his side’s second goal and making him the first player over 40 to score in European football’s premier competition.

Surpassing Francesco Totti

Pepe’s achievement also saw him surpass the record set by the legendary Francesco Totti, who had previously held the title of the oldest scorer at 38 years and 59 days. Pepe’s remarkable performance is a testament to his enduring talent and resilience on the football pitch.

Not content with just one record, Pepe also earned the distinction of being the oldest outfield player in the history of the prestigious competition. He previously established this record when he started against the same opponents on October 25.
