Officials Awed by UAE’s First Hindu Stone Temple

The beautiful craftsmanship of the region's inaugural traditional Hindu stone temple captivated the DCD Abu Dhabi.

High-ranking officials from the Department of Community Development (DCD) Abu Dhabi were spellbound by the intricate craftsmanship of the region’s inaugural traditional Hindu stone temple, the BAPS Hindu Mandir, nearing completion.

Noteworthy Visit by DCD Delegation:

Led by DCD Chairman Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili and Executive Director Mohamed Helal Al Balooshi, a delegation was astounded by the temple’s exquisite artistry during their visit. 

Pujya Swami Brahmaviharidas, overseeing the temple’s construction, guided the officials through its wonders.

The tour commenced with ceremonial showering petals on construction bricks, then exploring the waterfall feature symbolizing sacred Indian rivers. The visit encompassed diverse facets:

  • An amphitheater
  • Eco-friendly shoe houses
  • An orchard doubling as a food court
  • Unique water features represent life’s spiritual journey

A Testament to Artistry:

Dr. Al Khaili lauded the temple’s intricacies, praising the carvings portraying UAE’s native animals and 14 moral tales from varied civilizations. 

He marveled at depictions from the Indian epic ‘Ramayana,’ expressing admiration for the masterpiece of artistry.

The ‘Dome of Harmony’ revealed layers symbolizing Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether through intricate carvings. 

The officials were captivated by depictions showcasing the elements of nature, transcending conventional beauty.

A Place of Harmony and Serenity:

Impressed by the effort of volunteers and swamis, Dr. Al Khaili hailed the temple as a symbol of harmony and peace, expressing gratitude to all involved in this monumental project.

The temple is set to open on February 14 with a ‘Festival of Harmony,’ symbolizing unity and welcoming all UAE residents. 

Dr. Al Khaili expressed anticipation for the upcoming celebration, emphasizing the temple’s significance as a place of worship for all in the country.
