In a disheartening turn of events, the 31-year-old Brazilian football star, Neymar, sustained an injury during the 2026 World Cup qualifier match against Uruguay.

During the 2-0 defeat against Uruguay, Neymar had to be taken off the field on a stretcher, visibly emotional and in tears. 

The injury occurred when he landed awkwardly after a challenge in the first half of the match held in Montevideo.
