New Bus Route Connects UAE’s Ras Al Khaimah and Oman’s Musandam

Travellers from the UAE will soon be able to experience Musandam's scenic surroundings and have a relaxing plunge in the stunning blue waters surrounded by hills.

With winter approaching, travelers from the UAE will soon have an opportunity to explore the picturesque landscape of Musandam and take a refreshing dip in the stunning blue waters surrounded by hills.

Launch of First International Public Bus:

Announced by the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA), starting on October 6, 2023, the region will witness the inauguration of the first international public bus service, connecting Ras Al Khaimah with the Governorate of Musandam in the Sultanate of Oman.

The new bus service will begin from the main bus station, Al Dhait South, in Ras Al Khaimah. It will feature two stops within the Emirates at Al Rams and Shaam areas. 

On the Omani side, the service will start and conclude at the Wilayat of Khasab, with stops at Tibaat, Wilayat of Bukha, Harf, and Qada area along the way.

Scheduled Journeys and Duration:

Travelers can avail of this scenic bus route with two scheduled journeys at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The total travel time for this picturesque journey is approximately 3 hours.

Affordable Fare and Booking Options:

For a one-way trip, the fare is set at Dh50. Tickets can be conveniently booked through various platforms, including the official website of RAKTA, the RAKBUS application, on the bus itself, or at the bus station.

Agreement Between RAKTA and Musandam Municipality:

The agreement to launch this international bus service was officially signed between RAKTA and the Municipality of Musandam on August 30, 2023. 

This exciting initiative is expected to enhance connectivity between the UAE and Oman, allowing travelers to experience the stunning natural beauty of Musandam with ease.
