MoHAP Launches 24/7 WhatsApp Service for Medication Information

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has introduced a pioneering 24/7 WhatsApp service that provides access to a comprehensive directory of registered medical products.
This initiative aims to enhance transparency and empower individuals with accurate information about medicines available in the UAE.
Easy Access to Medication Information:
With the new MoHAP service, users can easily inquire about medicines registered in the UAE and access detailed information about each drug.
This information includes the drug’s name, active ingredients, pharmaceutical form, available package sizes, and selling prices.
Convenience and Reliability:
MoHAP’s service can be accessed around the clock through smart devices, ensuring that individuals can access credible sources for their medical inquiries.
This effort aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to improving public health awareness and minimizing medication errors.
Unveiled at Gitex Global 2023:
The official launch of this service took place during Gitex Global 2023, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
This move is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to provide the public with precise medication information, encourage adherence to treatment plans, and promote informed healthcare decisions.
Empowering Patients and Healthcare Providers:
By offering transparency and confidence in pharmaceutical products, this service aids patients in making informed decisions based on their needs and medical professionals’ recommendations.
It also enables healthcare providers to access a curated list of market-approved medical products to fulfill patient requirements.
Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, the assistant undersecretary for the Support Services Sector, emphasized that this service is one of many digital projects launched by the Ministry.
It aims to provide innovative and proactive health services to all segments of society while creating an efficient digital framework for institutional services.
Easier Access for Medical Professionals:
The medical products directory is also valuable for medical professionals and pharmacists.
It allows them to easily view registered and licensed medicines, searchable by trade or scientific name.
The user-friendly, English-language interactive platform aligns with international best practices.
Commitment to Community Health:
Ahmed Ali Al Dashti stated, “This initiative not only makes essential medicine information more accessible than ever but also reflects our continual commitment to bolstering the health and well-being of our community.”
Residents can subscribe to the service by adding the number 0097142301221 to their contact list on WhatsApp and sending the word ‘Hi’ to directly engage with the service and access the available options.
A Collaborative Effort:
The newly launched initiative results from collaboration between the Ministry and health authorities.
It demonstrates the UAE government’s dedication to advancing patient rights and providing necessary services to enhance patients’ capabilities and facilitate their integration into society.
