Missing Indian Student Gurashman Singh Bhatia Found Dead

Gurashman Singh Bhatia's lifeless body was discovered in a lake near Canary Wharf, London, according to the UK Metropolitan Police.

The UK Metropolitan Police have confirmed the tragic discovery of Gurashman Singh Bhatia, a 23-year-old Indian student who had been missing for approximately a week. His lifeless body was found in a lake in Canary Wharf, London.

Authorities had contacted for assistance through social media, specifically X (formerly Twitter), sharing Bhatia’s CCTV image and urging anyone with information to come forward. The young student had disappeared after a night out with friends on December 14.

No Foul Play Suspected, Investigations Underway:

While the police state that Bhatia’s death is “not believed to be suspicious,” they are conducting further inquiries to ascertain the circumstances leading to his demise. Formal identification is pending, but the family has been informed.

Investigators are seeking the public’s help in reconstructing Gurashman’s last known movements to gain insights into the events surrounding his disappearance and tragic discovery. The CCTV image released by the police was taken before his disappearance.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, overseeing local policing in Tower Hamlets, expressed condolences to Gurashman’s family and friends. He emphasized the tragic nature of the incident and assured a thorough investigation to confirm the absence of any suspicious circumstances.

In light of the ongoing investigation, the police have appealed to anyone who may have seen Gurashman in the Marsh Wall area on the evening of Thursday, December 14, and in the early hours of Friday, December 15, to come forward with information that could help in shedding light on the case.
