Man United legend Wayne Rooney appointed as Birmingham City’s boss

Birmingham City have announced Wayne Rooney as their new boss.
Introduction
Wayne Rooney, the 37-year-old former England captain, has taken on a new role as the manager of a Championship club. His appointment marks a significant change for the club under new ownership and comes after the dismissal of the previous head coach.
Managerial Appointment
Rooney has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal to lead the Championship club as its new manager, bringing his wealth of experience as a former professional footballer.
Succession from John Eustace
Rooney succeeds John Eustace, who was relieved of his duties as the head coach after a 15-month tenure with the club.
New Ownership
This managerial change represents the first major decision made by the club’s new American owners, Shelby Companies Limited, who took control of the club in July.
Supporting Coaching Team
Rooney will be supported by a strong coaching team, including his former England team-mate Ashley Cole, who currently serves as the assistant coach for the England Under-21 team.
Additionally, John O’Shea, a former colleague from Rooney’s Manchester United days and the assistant coach of the Republic of Ireland men’s national team, will play a pivotal role in the coaching setup.
Experienced Backroom Staff
Two familiar faces, Carl Robinson and Pete Shuttleworth, who previously worked alongside Rooney at DC United, will also join his backroom staff. Their presence adds experience and familiarity to Rooney’s coaching setup.
Wayne Rooney’s appointment as manager is a significant development for the club, and the support of a talented coaching team, along with the backing of new ownership, underscores the club’s commitment to progress and success in the Championship.
