Liverpool into the QF, thanks to a thunderbolt from Nunez

Substitute Darwin Nunez netted a beauty as Liverpool crushed Bournemouth to reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
A 70th-minute finish by the Uruguayan striker was the defining moment in Liverpool’s match. He skillfully cut in from the left, expertly picking his spot and curling the ball into the top right corner with ample pace, leaving the opposing goalkeeper, Ionut Radu, with no chance.
Early Advantage for Liverpool
Cody Gakpo had given Liverpool the lead in the first half. He seized the opportunity to poke the ball home from close range after Harvey Elliott’s volley was parried into his path.
Bournemouth’s Equalizer
Bournemouth leveled the score with a goal from Justin Kluivert, marking his first for the club since joining from Roma in the summer. He found himself unmarked at the far post, heading home an Alex Scott corner in the 64th minute.
Late Offensive Push by Bournemouth
In the final 15 minutes of the match, the hosts went all out on the attack. David Brooks and Hamed Traore attempted to create opportunities, but neither managed to produce a shot on target.
Bournemouth’s valiant efforts fell short of leveling the score for a second time.
The match showcased moments of skill and determination from both sides, with the Uruguayan striker’s brilliant finish ultimately securing the win for Liverpool.
