India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned popular comedian Kapil Sharma and actor Huma Qureshi in connection with the Mahadev betting app case. 

The agency looks into potential links between celebrities and the app’s illegal activities.

Ranbir Kapoor Previously Summoned:

Earlier, the ED summoned actor Ranbir Kapoor in connection with the same case, raising questions about the extent of celebrity involvement with the app.

The founders of the Mahadev app are reportedly running several similar apps, all generating substantial daily profits. The ED is intensifying its efforts to uncover the financial irregularities associated with these apps.

Money Laundering Investigations:

The ED’s investigation into the Mahadev Online Book Betting app centers on allegations of online money laundering. 

The app is believed to be part of a larger syndicate that facilitates illegal betting websites, user registration, and money laundering through complex bank account networks.

Non-bailable warrants have been issued against suspects by a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) special court in Raipur. 

The ED has conducted searches across multiple locations, including Raipur, Bhopal, Mumbai, and Kolkata, resulting in the seizure of illegal assets worth Rs 4.17 billion.

The ED has successfully identified major players involved in the money laundering operations connected to the Mahadev online betting app.
