Hope Probe enters Mars orbit ; UAE joins the list

It is Historic as The UAE has become the first Arab nation and fifth country in the world to reach Mars after the Hope Probe successfully entered the Red Planet’s orbit at 7.42pm.

At the Burj Plaza of Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, a giant screen livestream the scenes at the MBRSC ground station. The most tense moment was when Omran Sharaf was talking to somebody on the phone, probably one from the Deep Space Network in Madrid, Spain.

He and his engineers smiled, and that was it. The signal that indicated that the UAE had made it successfully into the orbit, accomplishing another daring feat since the period of Hope’s launch on July 20, 2020.

This is the heart warming moment when a senior official announce that UAE’s Hope-Probe has reach its orbit around Mars.

That was the historical moment!

Project Manager of the Emirates Mars Mission. Omran Sharaf was at control room, Dubai. When the team got the first signal from the probe after Mars Orbit entry.

The official managed to maintain his emotions and declared the success of the mission properly.

“To the residents of the United Arab Emirates, to Arab and Muslim nations, we announce that the mission of the UAE to Mars has successfully entered the orbit of the Red Planet.

“All thanks to Allah, all thanks to Allah, all thanks to Allah,” he mentions, to applause from the team.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre. Said: “The Emirates Mars Mission filled a new chapter in the UAE’s record of achievements in the space science sector. And supports the efforts of our country to build a sustainable knowledge-based economy driven by great technologies.”

Sarah Al Amiri,Minister of State for Advanced Sciences and Science Lead of the Emirates Mars Mission. Said, “The high stake mission was a highly rehearsed, designed and tested manoeuvre,”
