Hamas Launches ‘Operation Al-Aqsa Storm As They Fires Over 5,000 Rockets

On Saturday, Hamas’ armed wing declared the start of “Operation Al-Aqsa Storm” and announced that they had fired more than 5,000 rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel.

Rare Statement from Hamas Military Leader:

In a rare public statement, Mohammed Deif, the elusive leader of Hamas’ military wing, confirmed the launch of the new military operation.

He revealed that 5,000 rockets had been fired into Israel as part of “Operation Al-Aqsa Storm.” Deif emphasized that enough is enough and called on all Palestinians to confront Israel.

In addition to the rocket barrage, Palestinians in the Gaza Strip carried out what appeared to be an unprecedented infiltration into southern Israel, prompting Israel to issue orders for residents in the region to remain indoors.

The Israeli military confirmed that “several terrorists have infiltrated Israeli territory.” Videos posted on social media showed uniformed gunmen inside the Israeli border town of Sderot, with the sound of gunfire audible in the footage.

Casualty Reported in Israel:

Rocket fire from the Gaza Strip resulted in the death of a woman in Israel, according to Magen David Adom, the emergency medical services.

A woman in her 60s was killed due to a direct hit, and 15 others were injured in southern Israel due to the rocket attacks.

This escalation comes as tensions between Israel and Hamas continue to rise, with the situation evolving rapidly on both sides of the conflict.
