Fifth ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon Welcomes Top International Runners

The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, scheduled for December 16, expects a whopping 23,000 competitors across all race categories.

The upcoming ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, slated for December 16, anticipates 23,000 participants across various race categories, including the 42.195-km marathon, relays, and shorter distances like the 10km, 5km, and 2.5km races.

Elite Runners and Stellar Line-Up:

Top-tier international runners will grace the event, with Uganda’s Andrew Kwemoi, winner of the 2023 Milano Marathon, and Kenya’s Kiptum Barnabas, victor of the 2019 Hong Kong Marathon and the Buenos Aires Marathon in 2017, headlining the men’s race. 

Ethiopia’s Tirunesh Dibaba, Olympic Champion in the 10km and 2017 Chicago Marathon winner, alongside Kenya’s Maurine Chepkemoi, the 2022 Enschede Marathon champion, will lead the women’s race among other acclaimed athletes.

Global Recognition and Significance:

Suhail Al Arifi, Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s executive director of the events sector, emphasized the global stature of the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, attributing its success to the presence of renowned international runners and its recognition in the world of long-distance running.

The event aims to involve the entire community, including families and children, offering race distances suitable for varying fitness levels. 

Registration is free for people of determination and Paralympics participants, encouraging inclusivity and diversity.

Race Logistics and Village Experience:

Races will kick off from different points near ADNOC headquarters on Corniche Road and culminate at the ADNOC Campus, providing warm-up facilities and refreshment areas at Bainuna Public Park. 

The Marathon Village, accessible from December 12 to 16, will offer entertainment, dining options, and an immersive experience for visitors at the Adnoc headquarters.

Participants will receive exclusive Nike technical race shirts made from sustainable materials, customizable with their names. 

Race packs can be collected at the Marathon Village between December 12 and 15 for those registered after November 30. Further registration details are available at ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon’s website.
