Education and Skill Development Initiatives Strengthen UAE-India Relations

The presence of renowned Indian universities and colleges in the UAE is increasing, with more institutions seeking to construct campuses there.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi-Abu Dhabi is set to commence operations in January. The opening of this campus underscores the growing partnership in the education sector between India and the UAE.

Expansion of Education Opportunities:

The UAE is witnessing a surge in the presence of renowned Indian universities and colleges, with more institutions planning to establish their campuses there. 

Furthermore, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is preparing to open an office in the UAE to facilitate educational initiatives.

Importance of Education and Skills in Bilateral Relations:

Education and skill development have emerged as key sectors in the strategic partnership between the UAE and India. 

The robust UAE-India relationship is built on deep-rooted bilateral ties and a comprehensive strategic partnership across various sectors.

Dharmendra Pradhan, Indian Minister of Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, discussed with UAE officials, including Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Education and Human Resources Council (EHRC). 

They reviewed the progress of the IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi campus and explored opportunities for closer cooperation in education.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU):

Minister Pradhan and Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Minister of Education, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in the education sector. 

The MoU aims to streamline education cooperation between the two countries, promote academic and research collaborations, facilitate skill development, and encourage student and faculty mobility.

Vision for Mutual Prosperity:

Education and skills cooperation was highlighted in the Vision Document unveiled by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, emphasizing the commitment to fostering mutual prosperity and global opportunities through educational collaboration.
