Dubai’s search-and-rescue teams respond to 2,000+ incidents in nine months

Diverse Response Operations

Dubai’s dedicated search-and-rescue teams have been on the frontline, responding to a wide array of incidents over the past nine months. 

These include everything from traffic accidents and fires to intricate rescues from vehicles, residences, and elevators. They’ve even been involved in search-and-rescue operations abroad.

Efficiency and Reduced Response Times

Dubai Police’s relentless efforts have seen them respond to a total of 2,551 incidents, a notable decrease from the 3,845 incidents recorded in the previous year. 

Major General Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman, the Director of the General Department of Transport and Rescue of Dubai Police, shared the achievement of reducing the average response time for emergencies to an impressive 6.9 minutes, surpassing the initial target of seven minutes.

Specialized and Consistent Presence

What sets these specialized team members apart is their unwavering presence in all types of rescue operations and incidents. They’ve been involved in some truly remarkable operations, including rescuing individuals who fell into dangerous situations such as tanks and cement mixers. 

They’ve also played a pivotal role in saving a man buried under rubble following a building collapse and responding to a fire sparked by welding equipment placed near flammable materials.

Dubai’s search-and-rescue teams continue to demonstrate their dedication, skill, and unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.
