These indexes include walkability, landmarks, park and recreation options, airport connectivity, cultural attractions, educational attainment, business presence (Fortune 500 Global Companies), startup ecosystem, and more.
Dubai’s Attractions and Achievements:
Dubai’s attractiveness is attributed to its numerous attractions, including iconic developments like Palm Jumeirah and the Burj Khalifa.
The city is known for continuously pursuing world records, such as the tallest, longest, fastest, and largest structures.
Dubai ranks 8th in the Attractions subcategory due to its abundance of malls, indoor ski parks, theme parks, entertainment venues, and family-friendly resorts.
Among regional cities, Abu Dhabi ranks second in the Arab world and 25th globally. Other regional cities in the rankings include Riyadh (28th), Doha (36th), Kuwait (58th), and Muscat (89th).
Post-Pandemic Perspectives:
The report notes that cities worldwide are reevaluating what is desirable in terms of livability, workability, and playability as they emerge from the pandemic, focusing on outdoor spaces and lessons learned during lockdowns.
Chris Fair, President and CEO of Resonance Consultancy, commented, “Our urban centers and their citizens, current and future, are completely rethinking what they consider desirable in a place to live, work, or play.”
