Dubai Community Unites to Support Palestinian Artists

Residents of Dubai came together for a two-day fundraising show at Raw Coffee Company in Al Quoz.

Dubai’s residents united for a two-day fundraising exhibition at Raw Coffee Company in Al Quoz, demonstrating their support for Palestinian artists amid the ongoing conflict.

The event, organized by Lisa Dale and Kim Thompson, aimed to showcase Palestinian craftsmanship and provide a platform for artistic expression during challenging times.

Diverse Palestinian Handcrafted Products:

The exhibition featured many Palestinian handcrafted products, including olive oil soaps, decorative items, hand-painted dishes, jewelry, paintings, bags, and more.

These products not only showcased artistic creativity but also represented the resilience and determination of Palestinian artisans.

Empowering Palestinian Women Through Talleh:

The event included products from Talleh, a traditional Palestinian handicrafts business that empowers women in East Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza.

This initiative allows Palestinian women to showcase their skills and craftsmanship while contributing to their financial well-being.

The fundraising event symbolized hope, emphasizing the power of collective compassion in the face of conflict. Attendees were reminded of the importance of supporting Palestinian artists during these challenging times.

Direct Benefits for Artisans:

The event successfully raised Dh100,000, with many products selling out. The proceeds were returned to Palestine, benefiting the artisans who crafted the products.

This financial support was a testament to their work’s quality and their craftsmanship appreciation.

UAE’s Commitment to Humanitarian Aid:

The fundraising event and the broader “Compassion for Gaza” initiative reflect the UAE’s commitment to providing humanitarian support to those affected by the ongoing conflict.

Earlier, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum directed Dh50 million in humanitarian aid for Palestinians through Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).
