Dubai-Born Shuttler Tanisha Crasto Aims for 2024 Paris Olympics

At 15, Tanisha Crasto faced a significant decision: continue her comfortable life in Dubai with her parents or pursue her dream of becoming a professional badminton player in India.
With the unwavering support of her father and coach, Clifford, Tanisha made the life-changing choice to chase her badminton aspirations in India.
Rising Star:
Now, at the age of 20, Tanisha Crasto has evolved into one of India’s elite badminton players, specializing in women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
She recently debuted at the Asian Games in China, following India’s historic bronze medal win at the Asian Mixed Team Badminton Championships.
Eyes on the Olympics:
With the backing of her partner, Ashwini Ponnappa, a pioneer in women’s doubles in India, Tanisha is setting her sights on the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The duo has achieved remarkable success in various tournaments, including the Abu Dhabi Masters and the Nantes Challenge in France.
Olympic Qualification and Ambitions:
To secure a place at the 2024 Olympics, they must be among the top 16 teams globally. Currently ranked 30th, Tanisha and Ashwini are determined to qualify and aim to break into the top 10 teams in the world.

Ashwini Ponnappa, a top 10 player in women’s doubles, inspires Tanisha. Their partnership has not only brought success but has also been a source of learning and motivation for the young shuttler.
