Celtic and Atletico draw in a thriller Champions League match in Glasgow

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers says his “terrific” side will receive an injection of confidence after gaining their first Champions League point of the season in a ferocious match with Atletico Madrid.
Introduction
In a high-energy match at Celtic Park, Rodgers’ men showcased their skills by taking the lead twice.
The early opener by Kyogo Furuhashi and Luis Palma’s angled strike, following Antonie Griezmann’s penalty conversion at the second attempt, had the home crowd buzzing with excitement.
However, Alvaro Morata’s second-half header leveled the contest, denying Celtic a much-anticipated home group stage win.
Early Lead and Response
Celtic started strong with Kyogo Furuhashi finding the net in the fourth minute, setting the pace for the match.
Their lead was briefly threatened when Antonie Griezmann converted a penalty at the second attempt, but Luis Palma’s angled strike quickly restored Celtic’s advantage.
Alvaro Morata’s Equalizer
The second half saw a spirited comeback from the opposing side, with Alvaro Morata’s header leveling the contest. The match remained intensely competitive until the final whistle.
Celtic’s Group Position
Despite their impressive performance, Celtic finds themselves at the bottom of the group at the halfway stage.
While they still have a chance to claim third place and secure a spot in the Europa League after Christmas, the prospects of advancing
further in this competition are diminishing.
A Thrilling Contest
The match at Celtic Park was a thrilling encounter with multiple lead changes and moments of intense action. The draw highlights the competitiveness of the group and keeps the race for the Europa League spot alive for Celtic.
