ADNOC In-Country Value Program Creates Thousands of Jobs for Emiratis

Over 9,000 Emiratis have found work in the private sector thanks to companies that work with ADNOC as part of its in-country value (ICV) programme.

Since 2018, more than 9,000 Emiratis have found employment in the private sector through companies collaborating with ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) as part of its in-country value (ICV) program.

The company is determined to further bolster this number with a target of 5,000 additional jobs by 2027.

Enabling Local Talents and Private Sector Growth:

Zainab Al Blooki, the Manager of In-Country Value Development at ADNOC Group, emphasized ADNOC’s commitment to nurturing local talent and supporting the private sector within its supply chain.

ADNOC, in collaboration with its supply chain partners, is focused on creating sustainable, long-lasting job opportunities for Emiratis in the private sector.

The ultimate goal is to ensure the continuity and sustainability of regional operations.

Industrialist Career Exhibition:

Al Blooki discussed these initiatives during the ‘Industrialist Career Exhibition’ at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, highlighting the participation of more than 73 companies, many of which are part of ADNOC’s supply chain.

Key Elements of ADNOC’s ICV Program:

The ICV program by ADNOC aims to strengthen the local economy through various measures, including promoting Emiratisation in the private sector.

Key components include tracking the number of Emirati hires, the investment in their salaries, training, development, and overall career progression within the organization.

Companies that employ more Emiratis are likely to receive a higher ICV score, giving them a preference when ADNOC awards tenders.

The objective is to reward and acknowledge companies’ significant contributions to the local economy.

Future Goals and Achievements:

ADNOC’s ICV program has already led to hiring over 9,000 Emiratis since its launch in 2018, with an additional 5,000 jobs targeted by 2027.

This goal has been established through an agreement between ADNOC and Nafis. Moreover, the program has contributed to retaining more than Dh175 billion in the country’s economy since its inception.

The career exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), and ADNOC Group.

A Unified Strategy for Emiratisation:

Al Blooki highlighted the synergy achieved through the establishment of Nafis and the concerted efforts of the federal government in pursuit of Emiratisation goals.

The collective strategy across the supply chain ensures the success of these initiatives, ultimately benefiting Emiratis.
