During the approaching New Year's Eve celebrations, Abu Dhabi authorities have banned specified vehicles on Abu Dhabi Island.

In collaboration with the Integrated Transport Centre, Abu Dhabi authorities have banned specific vehicles within Abu Dhabi Island during the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The ban, enforced by the Directorate of Traffic, will specifically target trucks, heavy vehicles, and buses transporting laborers. This restriction is set to be in effect from Sunday, December 31, 2023, to Monday, January 1, 2024.

Timeframe and Exemptions:

Starting at 7 am on Sunday and lasting until 7 am on Monday, the ban aims to enhance traffic safety during the festive period. However, it’s important to note that logistics and cleaning company vehicles have been exempted from this restriction.

The ban explicitly prohibits the movement of the specified vehicles across key regional bridges, including Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Maqta Bridge, Musaffah Bridge, and Sheikh Khalifa Bridge.

Traffic Management Measures:

To ensure the ban’s effective implementation, traffic patrols will be deployed on all roads.

Additionally, smart systems will intensify traffic control, contributing to enhanced efficiency in monitoring and enforcement.

Drivers are strongly urged to cooperate with authorities by strictly adhering to traffic laws, thus reinforcing overall traffic safety efforts.
