Abu Dhabi Authorities Launch New Hotline for Reporting Social Cases

Abu Dhabi authorities have taken a significant step in addressing social cases by introducing a new call center number.
This hotline, numbered 800-444, allows residents to report various social issues, including family disputes, bullying, and challenges children and vulnerable groups face.
The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) partnered with the Family Care Authority (FCA) to establish this important initiative. It serves as a pivotal point of contact for community needs.
The mission of the Family Care Authority:
Dr. Bushra Al Mulla, the Director-General of the FCA, emphasized the authority’s mission to provide comprehensive services to family-care beneficiaries.
The goal is to empower socially vulnerable families, children, and youth by collaborating with various social entities.
Range of Services Offered:
The FCA offers various services, including social and psychological counseling, caregiver support, emergency assistance, and temporary shelter.
These services address a wide spectrum of social cases, including family disputes and challenges children, juveniles, and vulnerable groups face.
Individuals and families in Abu Dhabi, regardless of their status (citizens, expatriates, or visitors), can utilize the 800-444 call center number to report social cases and request assistance.
Creating Awareness through Interactive Sessions:
An immersive event was held at Al Qana, a vibrant waterfront destination, to raise awareness about the FCA’s services.
Community members of all ages were encouraged to explore a hi-tech digital booth to interact with different scenarios related to social issues, such as bullying, emotional abuse, and mental health.
The event also highlighted key developments in the Abu Dhabi Family Wellbeing Strategy, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for citizens and expat families.
Strengthening the Family Unit:
Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, the Chairman of the DCD, stressed the importance of families as the foundation of society and sustainable development.
The Abu Dhabi Family Wellbeing Strategy includes a range of initiatives and programs designed to meet the needs of youth, families, and the elderly, all of which will be implemented in partnership with other organizations.
The strategy aims to support young people in building successful families by equipping them with the necessary skills.
